Grant Arte is an artist, painter, restorer, sculptor, and educator whose practice exists at the intersection of creation, research, and the preservation of art.
Trained in painting at the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia, he continued his professional development at the Repin Academy of Fine Arts in Saint Petersburg and the Stroganov Moscow State Academy of Arts and Industry. His academic background spans easel and monumental painting, museology, conservation, and the restoration of works of art.
This combination of artistic and restoration practice shapes a distinctive approach to his work. For Grant Arte, an artwork is not only a creative expression, but also a material object carrying its own history, structure, and cultural memory.
Working across painting and sculpture, his practice brings together classical artistic traditions and contemporary interpretation, often exploring the human figure, mythology, spirituality, vulnerability, and transformation.
Alongside his artistic practice, Grant Arte has taught at the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia since 2012. In 2017, he founded the Grant Arts Education Center, extending his practice into education and the transmission of artistic knowledge to a new generation.

A cycle of bronze reliefs inspired by Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy, the series examines human passion, moral struggle, and spiritual accountability through a contemporary sculptural language.
At its core are seven reliefs associated with the deadly sins. Drawing from medieval traditions in which vice was expressed through animal imagery, Grant Arte merges human and zoomorphic forms, creating figures caught in states of physical and symbolic transformation.
Raw bronze surfaces, expressive modeling, and pronounced relief give the series an almost visceral intensity, while each individual work remains part of a larger narrative about the tension between human nature and moral choice.

Grant Arte reinterprets the ancient myth of Leda and the Swan as an intimate psychological drama.
The intertwined figures of Leda and the swan create a composition charged with tension, passion, and vulnerability. Deep, somber tones are interrupted by luminous flesh, white plumage, and red drapery, directing attention toward the central encounter while introducing visual references to passion, sacrifice, and fate.
Rather than simply retelling the classical myth, the work explores timeless questions of love, power, temptation, and human vulnerability.

In Crucifixion. Fragment, Grant Arte deliberately removes almost the entire familiar image of the Crucifixion, leaving only the feet of Christ.
This act of fragmentation shifts the work away from literal narration toward contemplation. The viewer is asked to reconstruct the absent body, cross, and surrounding scene through imagination.
A restrained palette, dark background, traces of wounds, and tactile handling of paint create an atmosphere of silence and quiet tragedy. Through what is left unseen, the work becomes a meditation on sacrifice, mortality, solitude, and human vulnerability.
